Check Out A New English-Subbed Trailer For YURUSAREZARU MONO (UNFORGIVEN)!


Making its way to this year's Toronto International Film Festival with a new English-subbed trailer is filmmaker Sang Il-Lee's retelling of Clint Eastwood's 1992 award-winning film, Unforgiven. The film is titled Yurusarezaru Mono from writer and director Sang-Il Lee, and stars Ken Watanabe as a 17th century former government assassin who is drawn back with a new assignment right after his pursuit of a new life is stricken with tragedy and poverty.

Also starring are Koichi Sato, Akira EmotoJun KunimuraYuya Yagira and Shiori Kutsuna. The film is due out in Japan theaters on September 13th, 2013.

SYNOPSIS:
The story is set in Hokkaido in 1880, a time of increased pioneering in the location soon after the fall of the Tokugawa shogunate. Ken Watanabe stars as a long-retired samurai named Jubee Kamata who is now living a quiet secluded life with his kids. 
Jubei was after a popular assassin in Kyoto who killed at the behest of the Edo government. Following the decisive Battle of Hakodate, he slipped away and fled to the north to escape the new government. Ten years ago, he gave up his sword for his late wife, but poverty causes him to be lured out of retirement by a specifically massive bounty.
